Old conversation with Lance

  • Lance:  I just find your little phrases and mannerisms irresistibly cute. I have no defenses against cute.
  •  You conquered and occupied my heart without firing a shot. It was all subterfuge. I do not know how to pronounce that word, incidentally.
  • Me:  sub-ter-fewge. What are my mannerisms?
  • Lance:  It's basically everything, your expressions, the little things you say...we are pathetically in love. They could make a Disney movie based on us. You just need to almost die and I need to rescue you.
  • Me:  Except they'd really have to embellish the story of our meeting, because online dating doesn't shout Disney movie to me. As far as our romance is concerned and the level of attraction, totally Disney worthy.

Pumpkin Seed Recipe

Last week I had a pumpkin carving party and afterwards there were hundreds of pumpkin seeds left in a bowl. I decided to bake them, as suggested by my mom. Here is the recipe…

Ingredients

Enough pumpkin seeds to make a double layer on a cookie sheet

1 stick butter

Mrs. Dash Garlic and Herb

Garlic Powder

Coarse black pepper

Salt

Melt butter in a bowl, add spices (add more than you normally would because the butter will spread out among the seeds, eyeball it). Mix the washed pumpkin seeds in the butter until coated. Pour pumpkin seeds onto cookie sheet and bake at 300 degrees. You will want to check the seeds every 5-10 minutes and stir them to make sure they cook evenly. Remove from oven when they are brown but not burned and place them on a layer of paper towels to let the excess butter drain. Salt if desired.

Easy and delicious!
